Wildcard search in DOCX is a search for a string of text using a pattern in which some of the characters in the string are replaced with special characters representing zero, one or more arbitrary characters.

In this application, wildcards denote part of only one word. If you need to find a phrase consisting of several words, all words from a query in a DOCX file, or any word from a query in a DOCX file, then you must select the appropriate option under the query text box. In this case, each word of the query may contain wildcards, and the words are separated from each other by spaces.
