Electronic signatures and digital certificates allow to sign XLSM document with eSign application. Note, the signed XLSM document keeps signatures as supported document elements, such as text, labels, stickers, images, hidden metadata information and digital certificates that verifies document content. The XLSM document signed with digital certificates could be verified for any changes of its content. If there were some changes made to signed document then verification process will detect it and certificates will be not valid. To add various electronic signatures, you need to select one or more XLSM documents, then in application select one from the existing signature templates like Text Stamps, Images, Handwritten signatures, Barcode, QR Code or digital certificate to sign, drag the signatures across the document pages. The documents are stored in a secure storage. You can upload it from any platform, mobile or another device, on any Windows, MacOs, Linux or Android platform. Files with XLSM extension is a type of Spreasheet files that support Macros. From application point of view, a Macro is set of instructions that are used for automating processes. A macro is used to record the steps that are performed repeatedly and facilitates performing the actions by running the macro again. Macros are programmed with Microsoft's Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) from within the Excel Workbook using the Visual Basic Editor and can be run/debug directly from there.

What is digital signature?
The digital signature is an electronic artifact on the document which could be a simple document element like a text, stamp, image or could be a more complicated digital certificate that verifies the document signer and checks that document data was not changed after its signing.
How to create a digital signature?
Once you will upload the document from this page, you will be redirected to the document editor where you will need to pick the signature type that could be text, image, stamp, barcode, QR code or digital certificate. When the signature type is selected you can click [Add] button to create a new digital signature of the proper type. Text signature requires only text and adjusting its style. Image signature requires the image to be uploaded. Barcode or QR code signature requires text. The digital certificate will need a special pfx certificate file to create the documen signature.
How to sign a XLSM document?
The document could be signed with many electronic signatures of the different types. The signatures could be added to the document page and then could be saved. Some documents support only simple electronic elements like text and images. Many documents formats support digital certificates that allow protecting content from unexpected changes.
How to add signature?
Simple digital signatures, like text and images, could be located on the document page to provide a visual signature confirmation. When the document was uploaded to the editor the signatures from the toolbox could be dragged to the document page and pointed to a specific area. The digital certificate could have no visual representation but be embedded into the document and protect it from unexpected changes.
How to verify a signature in XLSM document?
The digital signature on the document could be verified visually or automatically. Visual verification is efficient for text, stamps, handwritten signatures, watermarks. The automatic verification could tell hidden information about the document signer and protect the document from unexpected changes. The Barcode and QR code signatures allow automate document verification process. Digital certificates could protect highly important documents from unauthorized changes.
