Lorem Ipsum DOT

Files with the.DOT extension are Microsoft Word template files that contain pre-formatted settings for the generation of subsequent DOC files. A template file is created to store specific user settings that will be applied to subsequent files created from these. Page margins, borders, headers, footers, and other page settings are among the options available. These templates are commonly found in official documents such as company letterheads and standardized forms. The DOT file format is unique to Microsoft Word 2003 and earlier, but it is also supported by later versions. By default, Microsoft Word opens any new document based on a normal.dot file.

The advantage of using lorem ipsum text instead of random text in the reader's native language is that Latin text can draw the reader's attention away from the location of the content. Lipsum text characters are distributed fairly normally, giving the impression of a readable English language.

You might already know how to generate lorem ipsum text using Microsoft Word built-in features. By default you can create five paragraphs of random text by typing this command:

=lorem()

In case if you want to generate a specific number of paragraphs you should specify it like this:

=lorem(7)  - this way seven paragraphs of lipsum text will be generated.

By the way it is even possible to specify the number of sentences that each paragraph should contain. Here is a how the command will look like:

=lorem(10, 4)  - this way 10 paragraphs of lorem ipsum text will be created, each of which will contain four sentences.

There is also an ability to generate random text using the current language in a Microsoft Word document with 'rand' command, and adjust the number of generated paragraphs and sentences.
