Spreadsheet files with the XLSM extension are Macros-compatible. A Macro is a set of instructions used to automate processes from the standpoint of an application. A macro is used to record the steps that are repeated and makes it easier to perform the actions by running the macro again. Macros are written in Microsoft's Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and can be run/debugged directly from the Excel Workbook using the Visual Basic Editor.

Lorem Ipsum text is commonly used as dummy text in the printing or design industries as a placeholder for 'real' text. It is not, as many people believe, Latin-looking gibberish.

If you have Microsoft Excel installed you may type in =rand() and press Enter in any cell of worksheet to generate a random number. But of course it is not a convenient solution when you need to generate a lot of placeholder text portions.
